Mallorca packing list for families

Mallorca mixes easy resort beaches with rocky coves and winding mountain roads, so the right shoes and shade make a big difference. Here is my family packing list, with what to expect each month.

Kristina's notes on Mallorca

  1. Many of the prettiest calas have rocky entries and no shade. Water shoes and a beach umbrella or pop-up tent make those coves easy with little ones.
  2. Rent a car to see the island, and reserve car seats with it or bring your own. The mountain roads in the Tramuntana are narrow and winding, so pack motion sickness help.
  3. The old wooden train from Palma to Sóller, then the tram to the port, is a family favorite. Go on a weekday morning to skip the longest lines.
