Cyprus packing list for families

Cyprus has long, warm beach seasons, ancient ruins, and cool mountain villages within an easy drive. Packing for strong sun and a mountain day or two keeps the trip easy with kids.

Kristina's notes on Cyprus

  1. Cyprus uses UK-style three-pin plugs and drives on the left, which surprises a lot of families. I bring the right adapters and ask for a car with a booster or car seat in advance.
  2. Summer is very hot, especially inland. My favorite family rhythm is beach mornings, a long lunch and rest, then the Paphos mosaics or Kourion ruins in the late afternoon when it cools.
  3. The Troodos Mountains are much cooler than the coast, with villages, waterfalls, and short hikes. I pack a light layer and sturdy shoes for a mountain day, even in summer.
