Albanian Riviera packing list for families
The Albanian Riviera has clear Ionian water, pebble coves, and ancient ruins, with fewer polished resorts than its neighbors. Packing a little more self-sufficiently makes it easy and fun with kids.

Kristina's notes on Albanian Riviera
- The Albanian Riviera is still developing, so service and roads vary. I book a driver for the winding coastal roads and keep cash on hand, because smaller restaurants and beach clubs may not take cards.
- Butrint, near Sarandë, is a UNESCO site with Greek and Roman ruins in a shady forest by a lagoon. It is easy and interesting for kids, especially in the morning before the heat.
- Ksamil and the busiest beaches get very crowded in July and August. June and September are my picks, with warm water and much more room on the sand.
