Cancún packing list for families
Cancún is one of the easiest beach trips for US families, with short flights and resorts built for kids. A few specific items help with the day trips that make it more than a pool week.

Kristina's notes on Cancún
- The Hotel Zone has two sides. Beaches facing the open Caribbean are beautiful but often have strong surf, while the bay side near Isla Mujeres is calmer for little swimmers. I match the hotel to the kids' ages.
- Cancún is an easy base for Isla Mujeres, Xcaret-style parks, cenotes, and Chichén Itzá. I pick one or two big outings, go early, and keep pool days in between so nobody melts down.
- Spring break weeks in March get loud and crowded in parts of the Hotel Zone. For families, I look at quieter resorts and dates around school breaks, and I bring a swim cover-up for walking through lobbies and to lunch.
