Bermuda packing list for families

Bermuda feels close to home but has its own climate and its own dress code, which surprises a lot of families. Here is what we pack for pink sand beaches, ferry rides, and dinners out.

Kristina's notes on Bermuda

  1. Bermuda is in the Atlantic, not the Caribbean, so it is mild rather than tropical in winter. From December through April, the water is chilly for most kids, and I pack sweaters and a light jacket instead of a suitcase of swimsuits.
  2. Visitors cannot rent regular cars, so you get around by taxi, ferry, bus, or small electric rental cars. Pack a small daypack for each beach day, since you will be carrying everything with you.
  3. US Customs preclearance happens at the Bermuda airport on the way home, so departure takes longer than the short flight suggests. Arrive early and keep the kids' passports handy.
